United States Air Force Colonel and USAF Commander Pilot Joseph William Kittinger II, took part in one of the toughest space missions ever carried out before: Project Excelsior. The project focuses on the search for high altitude rescues. He made a series of three extreme parachute jumps from an open aerospace structure named "Gondola" carried a loft by a large helium baloon. On August 16,1960, Kittinger jumped from 31,300 mt, falling for 4 minutes and 36 seconds reaching the speed of 988km/h opening his parachute at 5,500 mt setting four different records: highest baloon ascent, highest parachute jump, longest drogue fall, fastest velocity stood for 52 years.These t-shirts are made for the underground clothing company STEPSBROS,to celebrate the man and the Excelsior Project venture.
